My extensive travels by land, air, and sea have taken me to numerous parts of the world, from the icy expanses of Alaska to the southern reaches of Chile, and from the cultural richness of Europe to a 10,150 mile motorcycle journey of nostalgic roadside attractions around the United States. I’ve sailed the Mediterranean and the Caribbean on cruise lines ranging from the lively Carnival to the luxurious Cunard, gaining first-hand experience of the diverse offerings available to travellers.

As the author of the Amazon bestselling travelogue “Sleeping Around in America: Revisiting the Roadside Motel,” I share fun travel stories of retro motels on my motorcycle journey around the U.S.. My next publication, scheduled for release in Spring 2025, is called “Get a Room: The Ultimate Road Trippers Guide to Retro Motels“. In this travel guide, I handpick and feature more than 200 of the coolest retro motels in operation today covering every U.S. state and Canadian province.

I hold an MBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management and have two decades of senior management experience in the hospitality sector, giving me unique insights into operations and pricing dynamics that I apply to enhance the value you receive for your next vacation. I continuously monitor social, economic, geopolitical, and environmental changes affecting the industry, ensuring informed advice for my clients which I also share in my bi-weekly newsletter and blog called Vacation Views.

My avocation is to help spur interest in connecting, collaborating and promoting positive social change through travel and my community involvement. I am an advocate for women’s economic empowerment through the annual Supper Club & Swing Soirée I co-host with my wife Amanda raising money for Dress for Success Ottawa, and my efforts to support men’s mental health via the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride by donating all proceeds from Retro Ride Roasting Co. artisan coffee sales to the cause.

Outside of my professional and community pursuits, I have a keen interest in various forms of entertainment and cultural activities. When not cheering and chanting support for our home soccer clubs Atletico Ottawa and the Ottawa Rapid FC I find solace in listening to jazz and classical music, enjoy watching movies from the golden age of cinema, playing Scrabble, skiing and ballroom dancing with my beautiful wife. Always curious and adventurous, I enjoy traveling, exploring new destinations, and embracing diverse cultures.

Moreover, I am the proud father of two grown gentlemen Alex and Nic and an advocate for social change and equality. I actively promote feminism and building a fair and inclusive society through my writings and social commentary. With a strong interest in politics and progressivism, I engage in discussions that encourage positive change.
