Course Correction

On an ocean liner bound for New York, a relocating British professor meets a vacationing American school teacher. Sparks fly as their battle of wits transforms into a lesson in chemistry.

About

When Professor Edward Blake boards an ocean liner for a one-way trip to America, he expects a week of quiet academic reflection. Instead, his rigid, cynical worldview is upended by Isla Bennett, a vibrant schoolteacher who challenges him at every turn. Through a series of forced encounters their intellectual sparring transforms into a vulnerable “lesson in chemistry,” forcing both to decide if their connection can survive beyond the New York harbour.

Providing a comedic mirror to this new romance is Edward’s friends Oliver and Vivian. They are a married couple struggling to navigate the “digital noise” of their own lives. As they trade work emails for ballroom dance classes, their journey proves that even the most established relationships require a constant “course correction.” Set against the opulence of a transatlantic crossing, the story explores the rediscovery of authentic human connection in a world that has forgotten how to unplug.
